This is Olive and her new puppy Rose they both have bonded since their first encounter. They are young and full of life curious of what is come between the both of them. I spent the whole Saturday seeing these two play and get familiar with one and other. The curiosity between was not only adored but something that we will always look back on.

Saturday afternoon June 15, 2019 Olive four years old showed me her new family member who goes by the name of Rose a Yorkshire terrier. She told me that she got to pick her name and that it was the best gift ever. Being so young a puppy was the best gift anyone could give her. With excitement I watched as these two got acquainted.

As she carried the puppy all around for each of us to see, pet and occasionally hold. We got to see the love and adoration of her new family member/best friend. While she was asking us see her dog she kept saying she was tiny and that we have to be careful. This being her first puppy you see that the puppy was very special to her which is why she wanted to show everyone.

I noticed that Olive was being super careful as if the puppy were to break somehow. So she made the decision to carry as if she were a baby so that rose would be safe. As we saw this we explained to her that it was not good for the puppy to be held like that because she was not a baby. Of course she being four questioned why it was bad to do so.

When she finally put rose down she started explaining to her what dogs are supposed to do. Now to Olive this conversation needed to be heard for the dog to understand. She then started explaining to her that the green ball was for fetching and chasing. As Olive continued the conversation she told Rose that she was a tiny dog and to be careful.

As she continued to be careful with her puppy Olive down to Rose’s point of view. So she started playing with Rose on the floor so that they were eye level to be closer to her. As they were playing on the floor Olive wanted to give her a snack but couldn’t so they played pretend instead.

The two the continued to play until Olive moved the playing to sofa and started to show Rose the way she saw everyone else. They began with silly faces and with every different face she would get a different reaction. When Olive showed her an anger face she started to bark and got more curious.

Later on in the day Olive being more curious about the dog bed rather than rose. She attempted to show her pup not only how comfy her bed was but where she were to sleep.Rose on the other hand was more interested in what the bottom of Olive’s shoe smelled like.

What felt like hours to both of them Olive finally gave up in showing her. Rose on the other hand had something else in mind like her toy ice cream. They both seemed like they needed a little break from teaching and learning.

A little after their break apart Olive puts her on the couch to play some more games. She thought it would be a great idea to play peek-a-boo with her puppy like a baby. Rose being curious about where she were going rather than the game it’s self. The game continued for a while with both of them running out of energy from so much playing.

Finally after hours of playing with her new puppy Olive falls asleep right next to her pup. As Olive naps from being tired Rose continues to play right next to her so that she doesn’t leave her side. As you can see in these photos above the bond between these two is not only precious but also pure. It is probably going to last a life time not only to them but anyone who gets to witness it.
